LET THEM EAT CAKE is a historical time travel novel with a twist. Anna Mulligan’s first trip to France is supposed to be a time for her to research her genealogy. Instead, it turns into an opportunity for romance and adventure both in present day and in 18th century France as she travels back in time and avoids being found out as an imposter. Anna also finds evidence to support her theory that memories are passed on through the generations through what she calls Cell Memory. This 57,000-word time travel novel has lots of humor, history, romance, and colorful characters. The spirit world and reincarnation are explored as well.
Finally being with and falling in love with Dr. Jeff Andrews, the man she’s loved from afar, isn’t enough for Anna. Drawn to return to the Hameau de la Reine at Versailles without Jeff, she is transported back in time by the mysterious fog that surrounds the hamlet. She finds out the name of her ancestor when the inhabitants of the hamlet, including Queen Marie-Antoinette and Jeff’s ancestor, Geoffroi Andrieux, mistake her for that ancestor. She finds love in the past, as well, in the form of Geoffroi.
